Pop-Up Karte mit Spirale

Here's a pop-up card for you that's super easy to make and offers lots of room for your own design.

What you'll need*
Material: ausgedruckte Spirale und Blumen, Karte, Kleber, Schere

> an A6 (standard size) folded card, portrait

> pictures or graphics to glue into the card

> a printed spiral

> glue stick

> Optional: two adhesive dots [Affiliate Link*]

> scissors

> You can download a file with spirals for free here and then print it out.

Tip: Use the heaviest possible paper for the spiral - see what your printer allows. Sturdy paper will make your card more stable.

Instructions

1. Cut out the spiral along the black line.
You can then remove any black edges with a finer pair of scissors. It's okay if some black is still visible. You can glue pictures over it later.

2. Take the cut-out spiral and turn it over so that the back is facing up. Apply glue to the outer edge (see marking in the picture). Alternatively, you can also use a glue dot here.

3. Place the card face up in front of you and glue the spiral in the middle of the right inside of the card.

4. Now spread glue on the inner end of the spiral (see marking in the picture).

5. Then, fold the card closed. Press the glued areas firmly together with your fingers.

6. Unfold the card. The spiral is now fixed on both inside surfaces of the card.

7. Now you glue your pictures onto the spiral. It's best to apply the glue to the spiral and then stick the pictures on it.

You can glue the flowers wherever you like. Please note that the flowers should not stick out of the card - unless that is explicitly desired! (See next picture).

Tip: Fold the card closed after sticking on each flower to see if the flower extends beyond the edge of the card. If this is not desired, you need to reposition the flower on the spiral. Furthermore, when you close the card, you'll see if it still closes properly or if individual flower images "catch" on each other.

Decorate your card however you like.

Tip:You can also glue pictures directly onto the card.

Your pop-up card is finished!

Inspiration

For pop-up cards with spirals, I love to use illustrations from old books (pictures 1 and 3).
